With LED offering low maintenance and enhanced quality of light, it is the ideal choice for explosive atmospheres. Our client approached us to develop an IP66 rated solution that also met IEC/EN standards as directed by ATEX.
Integrate an LED-based solution into explosion-proof fittings to move away from traditional fluorescent tubes.
Linear Zone 1/2/21/22 luminaire
IP66 rated and suitable for use in hazardous wet area environments
A range of sizes, with a maximum light output requirement of 6,675 Lumens.
Housed in a marine-grade aluminium body together with a high impact polycarbonate tube the Linear LED light source, passed all EX tests. The snappable, end to end connectable linear light source provides the flexibility of size to allow fitting of boards into all the required luminaire sizes.
A custom aluminium IMS PCB with 40 high power LEDs was designed, prototyped in the explosion-proof housings, put through rigorous testing and then manufactured to order. The supply chain was optimized to allow rapid production and volume orders were filled in a matter of weeks.
