Design Engineer

Are you up for the challenge of designing unique lighting solutions for real applications? Have you the creativity and tenacity to figure out how to make the best LED devices, together with the mathematical skills and the technical nous to enjoy understanding and developing our lighting products?

At Forge, we’re really good at designing and manufacturing cutting-edge LED lighting solutions. That’s why we’re a market leader in custom LED lighting and why we’re increasing our new product design rate. We need a bright engineer or applied scientist who can juggle the complexities of electronics, mechanics and optics. We’ll give you plenty of variety, interesting challenges, on-the-job training support and the opportunity to take new product designs from concept through to prototype and on to volume production. The Role

You’ll be directly involved in;

  • Hands on mechanical and electrical/electronic design of LED lighting products
  • LED optical system design including custom LED optics
  • LED thermal system design including custom LED cooling solutions
  • Working to timescales & designing to cost – we need strong commercial design awareness
  • Electronics design, PCB design and prototyping
  • Full product lifecycle design from concept through to volume manufacture
  • Analysis of customer products and report writing for customers
  • LED component and LED industry knowledge

Manufacturing Engineer

Are you up for the challenge of designing unique lighting solutions for real applications? Have you the creativity and tenacity to design LED lighting products, together with the practical skills, experience and the technical understanding necessary to productionise our products for volume manufacture?

At Forge, we’re really good at designing and manufacturing cutting-edge LED lighting solutions. That’s why we’re a market leader in custom LED lighting and why we’re expanding our business and increasing our new product design rate. We need a practical, experienced, Manufacturing Engineer ideally with direct hands-on experience of offshore volume manufacture, ideally in an electro-technical industry. We’ll give you plenty of variety, interesting challenges, on-the-job training support and the opportunity to take new product designs from concept through to prototype and on to volume production.  If you think you’ve got the skills to make a positive difference, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

You’ll be directly involved in;

  • Hands on mechanical and electrical/electronic design of LED lighting products
  • Production/Manufacturing engineering – ensuring our products are production engineered for economic and efficient manufacture at our manufacturing sites worldwide.
  • Visiting our manufacturing sites in the UK and worldwide to initiate new manufacturing and to control ongoing manufacturing
  • LED optical system design including custom LED optics
  • LED thermal system design including custom LED cooling solutions
  • Electronics design, PCB design and prototyping
  • Working to timescales & designing to cost – we need strong commercial design awareness
  • Full product lifecycle design from concept through to volume manufacture
  • Analysis of customer products, report writing for customers
  • Gaining LED component and LED industry knowledge.

Technical Sales Account Manager

Are you an astute, commercially focused sales professional, with an ability to develop successful long- term customer relationships? Are you tenacious and up for the challenge of seeking, tracking and closing major sales opportunities?

At Forge, a market leader in LED lighting, we’re looking for a full-time Technical Sales Account Manager who can

  • Develop business
  • Champion key opportunities across the business in line with customer expectations
  • Understand our technical product range and match this to customer needs
  • Develop and manage key customer accounts from order receipt to order fulfilment

 

The right candidate will have a good degree (or a compelling story as to why not), commercial experience, excellent communication skills and be able to close a sale efficiently.

This is a full time permanent role (37 hours, Mon-Fri).

The Role

You’ll be responsible for;

  • Developing business
  • Championing key opportunities across the business in line with customer expectations
  • Understanding our technical product range and matching this to customer needs
  • Developing and managing key customer accounts from order receipt to order fulfilment
  • Reporting and managing the key sales opportunities
  • Some potential to travel / visit customers
  • Supporting the team at specific trade fairs

We want someone who is;

  • An excellent communicator – who can sell at all levels and can close a sale efficiently
  • Successful and experienced in a similar commercial role
  • Able to develop a strong understanding of our technical products
  • Has a good degree or a compelling story as to why not
  • Clever, curious and analytical — a commercial thinker, driven by results
  • Confident, with self-belief and ambition
  • Structured, self-motivated and a tenacious thinker with a good eye for detail
  • Enthusiastic with good people and teamwork skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Good at presenting to colleagues and customers alike
  • Very competent in IT skills
